How Big Is a Dumpling Squishy? Mini, Regular and Giant Sizes Compared

Dumpling squishies run from 3 cm to 25 cm. That is the honest short answer, and it is a wider spread than most photos suggest — a mini and a giant are the same toy in name only, and one of them will not do the job you had in mind for the other.

Photos are the problem. A squishy shot alone on a white background looks the same size whether it is 5 cm or 25 cm, which is exactly why people order one and find it smaller than expected. Below is what each size actually is, measured across our own range.

Mini: 3 to 6 cm

Minis sit in the middle of your palm with room to spare. The smallest we make is 3 cm; most sit around 5 to 5.5 cm. At this size the slow rise is quick — there is not much foam to move — so it feels more like a fidget than a stress toy.

They are the right size for a pencil case, a bag clip, a stocking, or a desk that already has too much on it. They are also the cheapest way in, which is why most collections start here.

Regular: around 8 to 9 cm

This is the size most people picture when they think of a dumpling squishy, and roughly the size of a real bao. It fills a hand properly. There is enough foam that the rise takes a satisfying couple of seconds, and enough surface for the printed faces and glitter finishes to actually read.

Giant: 9 to 25 cm

Giant covers a wide range, so it is worth knowing where the designs actually sit. In our range, most of the giant shelf is 10 cm — noticeably bigger than a regular, still one-handed. Five designs reach 15 cm, which is where it becomes a two-hand object. Two go to 25 cm, which is a different category again: those are the ones people film, because the rise takes long enough to watch.

Worth saying plainly: a 25 cm squishy is not a pocket toy. It is a desk or shelf object that happens to be squeezable.

Which size films best

If you are buying for video, size does most of the work. The bigger the piece, the more foam there is to move, and the longer the rise takes — a 25 cm dumpling takes visibly longer to return than a 5 cm one. That slow return is the whole appeal on camera, which is why the giants dominate the clips even though the minis outsell them.

How to check before you buy

Every product page lists its own measurement under the specifications, written as a length in centimetres. It is worth looking rather than guessing from the photo — the difference between 10 cm and 25 cm is not something a product shot communicates.

One more thing that is easy to miss: mystery boxes and multi-packs give the size of a single squishy, not the box. A three-piece mini set at 5.5 cm means three squishies of 5.5 cm each.

What does not change with size

The foam is the same throughout the range: premium slow-rise TPR, non-toxic, suitable from age 3 up. A mini is not a cheaper material, it is less of the same one.
